Nintendo Indie World Showcase Reveals 18 Games, Shadow Drops Blue Prince and Rotwood
Nintendo's latest Indie World Showcase packed 18 game announcements into a 15-minute presentation, including surprise same-day releases of critically acclaimed titles Blue Prince and Rotwood. The March 3 showcase featured a mix of new game reveals, release dates, and Switch 2 ports across multiple genres, with several demos now available on the eShop.
Nintendo surprised fans today with an Indie World Showcase that delivered 18 game announcements across its 15-minute runtime, headlined by the immediate availability of Blue Prince, one of 2025's most critically acclaimed puzzle games, now playable on Switch 2.
The presentation concluded with three surprise shadow drops available immediately after the broadcast ended. Blue Prince leads the trio, bringing its architectural puzzle gameplay to Switch 2 with mouse control support. The game earned widespread critical praise following its 2025 release and was featured on multiple year-end best games lists.
Joining Blue Prince is Rotwood, a 2.5D co-op brawler from Klei Entertainment, the studio behind Mark of the Ninja and the Don't Starve series. Rotwood launches as a Switch 2 console exclusive, having previously been available only in Steam Early Access since 2024. The game challenges players to battle enemies across seven different environments using weapons including hammers and bows. Interestingly, Rotwood was originally planned for release on Netflix before pivoting to its current platform strategy.
The third shadow drop, Minishoot Adventures, stands as the only title releasing simultaneously on both Switch 2 and the original Switch. The twin-stick shooter, which launched on PC in 2024 to strong reviews, combines elements reminiscent of Geometry Wars with The Legend of Zelda's dungeon exploration, tasking players with fighting through dungeons while rescuing companions.
Among the new game reveals, My Little Puppy emerged as one of the showcase's most heartwarming announcements. The adventure game casts players as Bong-gu, a Welsh Corgi who has crossed the rainbow bridge and embarks on a journey through the afterlife to find his owner. The title launches digitally on Switch on May 26, with a physical release following in June.
Heave Ho 2 returns with enhanced physics-based co-op gameplay, supporting up to four players locally or online as they chain their limbs together to platform through eight worlds. The sequel launches on both Switch and Switch 2 this summer and supports Nintendo's Game Share feature.
Several major developers announced new projects during the presentation. Drinkbox Studios, known for the Guacamelee series and Nobody Saves the World, revealed Blighted, an isometric action game set in a psychedelic western landscape scheduled for Switch 2 this fall. Meanwhile, Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault, currently in Early Access on PC, will arrive on Switch 2 this summer.
Other notable announcements include Mixtape, a narrative-driven road trip adventure following three friends on their final night of high school, launching across multiple platforms including Switch 2 on May 7. The Midnight Walk, a dark adventure from the creators of Lost in Random, arrives on Switch 2 on March 26 after its 2025 release on PlayStation 5 and PC.
Denshattack, described as combining Tony Hawk's Pro Skater with runaway train energy, received a June 17 release date for Switch 2 alongside a demo available immediately. The game includes an exclusive in-game train skin for Switch 2 players.
The showcase also featured Woodo, a cozy diorama puzzle game where players assemble wooden scenes piece by piece and watch them come to life with color and animation. Launching this summer on both Switch consoles, the game supports mouse controls on Switch 2.
A rapid-fire montage segment highlighted six additional titles, including Ratatan launching July 26 on Switch 2, Outbound arriving April 23 with a demo available now, and InKonbini: One Store. Many Stories releasing April 30 on both Switch platforms. Unrailed 2: Back on Track launches in May with a demo currently available, while Grave Seasons and Toem 2 both target summer 2026 releases.
Deadzone: Rogue, a first-person shooter sci-fi roguelite, rounds out the announcements with a March 17 release date for Switch 2. The game originally launched on PC in August 2025.
The Indie World Showcase continues Nintendo's strategy of highlighting independent developers across separate presentations, complementing last month's Partner Showcase and Pokemon Presents events that revealed Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth and Pokemon Winds and Waves respectively.
