FC 26 Launches Three Birthday Evolution Paths for Ultimate Team Players
EA Sports has released three distinct Evolution paths in FC 26 Ultimate Team as part of the game's birthday celebration, offering players opportunities to upgrade fullbacks, attacking wingers, and budget cards. The evolutions, which launched between March 7-9, 2026, provide substantial stat boosts and new PlayStyles for eligible players willing to invest coins or time.
EA Sports has rolled out three separate Evolution opportunities in FC 26 Ultimate Team between March 7-9, 2026, giving players multiple paths to enhance their squads during the game's birthday celebration period. Each Evolution targets different positions and play styles, ranging from defensive fullbacks to creative attacking players.
The Birthday Fullback Evolution, which launched on March 7, costs 65,000 coins to unlock and focuses exclusively on wide defenders. This Evolution requires players to select cards with a maximum 88 overall rating, no more than 10 PlayStyles, and a maximum of one PlayStyle+. Eligible positions are limited to left backs and right backs, with center backs explicitly excluded even if they have alternate positions.
The five-level upgrade path provides comprehensive improvements including a +15 overall boost capped at 90, significant defensive stat increases such as +25 to interceptions and tackle stats, and a +20 pace boost reaching a 91 maximum. Players also receive four skill move upgrades, a +3 weak foot improvement to a four-star rating, and multiple new PlayStyles including Intercept, Quick Step, Pinged Pass, Bruiser, and Jockey.
Recommended cards for this Evolution include premium options like Theo Hernandez Thunderstruck, Ferland Mendy Knockout Royalty, and Diogo Dalot Thunderstruck, as well as more accessible choices such as Lucas Digne World Tour, Jordi Alba End of an Era, and Lewis Hall Winter Wildcards.
One day later, on March 8, EA released The Party is Inside Evolution, a premium option costing 90,000 coins aimed at right-sided attacking players. This Evolution requires cards with maximum 88 overall rating, 91 pace, four total positions, 10 PlayStyles, and two PlayStyle+. Only right midfielders and right wingers qualify, with World Tour Silver Stars cards excluded.
The upgrades are particularly substantial, offering a +30 overall boost to 90, massive improvements to dribbling and passing attributes reaching 90-91 maximums, and a crucial CAM position addition. Players gain four skill move upgrades, a three-star weak foot boost to four stars, and new roles including Shadow Striker++ and Playmaker++. New PlayStyles include Technical+, Finesse Shot, Tiki Taka, Incisive Pass+, and Trickster.
Top candidates for this Evolution span both men's and women's football, including Kingsley Coman Winter Wildcards, Phil Foden Ultimate Scream, Francisco Conceicao TOTW, and Trinity Rodman Winter Wildcards from the women's game, alongside Liga F's Athenea and Brazilian players Debinha and Luany Future Stars.
The most recent addition, Prepare for the Party Evolution, launched March 9 as a free option allowing players to upgrade up to two cards. This Evolution serves as a preparatory chain option with more relaxed requirements: maximum 87 overall and 10 PlayStyles, excluding only goalkeepers and World Tour Silver Stars cards.
The free Evolution offers more modest but still valuable improvements across five levels, including +3 boosts to stamina (90 max), ball control (89 max), dribbling (89 max), and various passing and tackling stats. Players gain two separate +2 skill move upgrades totaling four stars and receive PlayStyles including Incisive Pass, Press Proven, and First Touch.
Versatile options for this Evolution include attackers like Viktor Gyokeres Flashback, Rafael Leao Winter Wildcards, and Endrick Ligue 1 POTM, as well as midfielders such as Oscar Bobb Fantasy FC and Moises Caicedo Unbreakables. The broad position requirements make Lucas Digne World Tour a particularly interesting choice, as he also qualifies for the Birthday Fullback Evolution.
All three Evolutions require players to complete objectives by playing matches in Squad Battles on minimum Semi-Pro difficulty, or in Rush, Rivals, Champions, or Live Events modes. The first level requires two matches, while subsequent levels each require one additional match, making completion relatively straightforward for active players.
The staggered release of these Evolutions provides Ultimate Team players with strategic choices based on their squad needs, coin balance, and available player cards heading into the birthday celebration event.
